Snow and Winter Storm Updates
Announcement: January 23, 2026
The City of Watertown has declared a Snow Emergency beginning at 12 PM on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until further notice. On-street parking is strictly prohibited during the snow emergency, and vehicles left on the street are subject to towing and fines of $100.
Residents who move their vehicles to a free off-street location provided by the City for Saturday night’s winter parking ban can continue to leave their vehicles in those allowed locations through the snow emergency. Please visit the winter parking ban page to learn of free off-street parking options during snow emergencies.
Library Update
Due to the storm, the Watertown Library will be closed on Sunday, January 25.
Trash & Recycling Update
Monday, January 26 trash and recycling collection will not occur, delaying the pick-up schedule next week by one day. Pickup will occur from Tuesday, January 27 through Saturday, January 31, 2026. Please remove your bins from the curb until your dedicated pickup day to allow our plows to clear snow during this storm without obstructions.
Friendly Snow Removal Reminder
As a reminder, property owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks after storms. Please help Watertown stay safe and accessible during the winter season, and please do not shovel snow into the street.
